by Georges Simenon ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 9, 1974
Maigret, uncomfortably out of his element but of course not over his head, during his first exposure to the beau monde when a rich British Colonel is found dead in his bathtub and his mistress, the Countess Paverini (still in love with the penniless Paverini) runs off to Nice. Maigret, as always, is given very little to work with but the story seems a little fuller -- perhaps it's only the caviar and champagne.
