Dr. Sanders, taking a brief holiday from his duties at an African leprosarium, finds himself caught up in the odd activities surrounding an obscure African port. It seems that everything is slowly becoming crystallized and although the visual effects are dazzling, the physical are somewhat disconcerting. It's a little like being permanently put on ice and reduced to a "half-life." Mr. Ballard runs the full color spectrum, his characters flit back and forth through the trees uttering cryptic remarks or chasing each other and it just goes to show that all that glitters . . .
