The American Library Association has announced the winners of the some of the nation's most prestigious awards for children's writers and illustrators. The entire list can be found here and eager fans can listen to the awards ceremony. Katherine Applegate's The One and Only Ivan, which won the Newbery Medal for most outstanding contribution to children's literature, has shot up to number two in sales of all books on Amazon and number three on bn.com. Jon Klassen's witty picture book This Is Not My Hat received the Caldecott Medal.
