Gordon Ramsay is launching a new cookbook imprint with Harper Influence and his Fox production company, Studio Ramsay Global, Deadline reports.
Bite Books will publish its first book in the fall, Idiot Sandwich: 100+ Recipes To Elevate Your Sandwich Game. The cookbook is “developed and curated” by Ramsay and written with Courtney McBroom, the press says.
Ramsay first rose to fame as the subject of the documentary series Boiling Point, which introduced viewers to his gruff, impatient persona. He went on to star in the cooking shows Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, which made him a global celebrity.
Idiot Sandwich takes its name from a meme that came from a comedy sketch he did on the Late Late Show With James Corden in 2015. In the sketch, Ramsay plays himself excoriating two contestants on a cooking show, Corden and Julie Chen Moonves. In one scene, he places slices of bread on either side of Chen Moonves’ head, and screams, “What are you?” Chen Moonves responds, “An idiot sandwich.”
Ramsay’s cookbook will contain more than 100 recipes from TikTok and YouTube stars, including competitive eater Matt Stonie and Mythical Kitchen host Josh Scherer. The publisher says the book is “an outrageously fun guide to achieving that perfect, mouthwatering combination of saucy, crunchy, savory deliciousness that only a sandwich can deliver.”
Idiot Sandwich is slated for publication on Sept. 30.
