KIRKUS REVIEW

This up to the minute world atlas is based on the 1960 census statistics, show million population increase in our country, the shifts-up and down the swing to the changes in place names, and- in the thousand places not listed in the U.S. census. The total rates entries exceed 100,000. There are 480 maps. In the 500 pages; there is one whole to space data. Including such specialized maps as those called the Van Allen hells, of dangerous radiation. An effective new feature is the enlargement of maps to exclude margins adding 15% in size of type and clarity. And probably the most important evidence of the stress on the changing world is in the maps of the emerging Africa, as against 4 in the nearest comparable atlas to note is that road and highway routes in many instances railroad lines.
