FIRST STEPS INTO SCIENCE

Intended for the elementary science instruction of the youngest in this age group, the book reviewed below is the second title in a projected series. (The first volume, A Look at the Moon was not received here for review.) At the end of each book, there will be two pages aimed at the parent or the teacher using it, which briefly expands the information offered in the main text. The vocabulary is easy. The print is large and clear. The illustrations are generous in terms of size and number. Where necessary, these are labeled. Simple experiments making use of easily obtained materials are suggested to back the explanations in the text.
