Early in this book the author, an ex-Catholic priest, states that this -- the latest of his attacks on the Church which he left voluntarily some thirteen years ago -- will brand him ""even more strongly as a bigot, an anti-Catholic and a plain liar"". He is all rights. The ""author"" also admits that many of the statements in the book will be violently by Catholics ""but by 'tolerant' Protestants, by some of my own brother and by the well enough alone' sponsors of Brotherhood week and of the National Conference of Christians and Jews."" He finds Paul and mistaken"". This self-indictment of the value of the work makes understand why any publisher would besmirch his reputation by publishing such a to profit from sensationalism for its own sake. No one could from the reading of this book of alleged rampant crime and immorality among lay and clerical, attributed by the author to the insistence on ""unnatural"" sex impulses. McLoughlin is trying hard to be the Maria Monk of the same credence. Responsible librarians and booksellers will recognize the allegations as a distorted product of a tortured mind and should deal with the book accordingly by ignoring it.
