KIRKUS REVIEW

There's a French flavor to this best-seller from Sweden, in its attributes of sophistication, its suggestion of sensuality. The story concerns Lars, married -- after much previous experience. In Ulla, with whom he has found mature and more settled love and satisfaction. Now, in his forties, and on the verge of temptation again, he recapitulates his previous amours and dreams of what married life with each would have been like. He finds in his wife, Ulla, the perfect solution. A book in which some people may find an answer for hungry hearts. But not -- in our estimation -- a potential best seller here.
