KIRKUS REVIEW

Excellent, Good sized maps, clear and readable. Lots of factual information on cities and countries, size and population, imports and exports and wealth. Graphs and charts of interest. The arrangement is regional, rather than alphabetized, for example, the United States is broken down into New England, Northwest, etc., in natural geographic order. A gasteer of the world, at the start, provides ready reference. Airline distance maps give a modern touch. More space given to island empires --to Alaska -- to the stage of war, than in average popular priced atlases. Gay colors.
