BLUE'S BROKEN HEART

Blue, a little dog, has a broken heart. He goes ruefully to Dr. Thomas, the veterinary, in order to have it mended. Here he meets his friends, the giraffe with the broken neck, the elephant who has grazed his legs, the crocodile with the injured jaw, the kangaroo on crutches. All the animals seem comfortable under the expert care of Dr. Thomas, but Blue's wound will take some time to heal, but heal it does, with love and the opportunity to help others. Ronni Solbert's menagerie are no less winning than they are instructive in this tender and purposeful little fantasy. A simple vocabulary conveys a story which is attractive and compelling.
