TOP OF THE REAP

The private investigators, belligerent Bertha and trouble shooter Lam, in for spot of murder cum blackmail, phony alibin, planted evidence, faked mining operations Gronting for a gambling joint -- the works in fact. Donald Lam is in and out of hot water with the police, and his clients seem set for the electric chair, before he manages to some through with an ingenious story which explains the facts (and leaves the reader a it baffled as to the ethics of an odd profession). Slick.
