KIRKUS REVIEW

A highly intricate double identity-indemnity case finds Donald Lam hired expose a presumed malingerer who has a whiplash injury which only fifty thousand dollars can heal. From a dude ranch where the casualty seems to be more active at night, to Texas and a missing nurse and some missing hospital equipment (X-rays and a corpse), the adjustment of the case involves more than money-- blackmail and murder... One of the best in this continuity for an audience which is just as in-exhaustible and indestructible as Lam.
