KIRKUS REVIEW

Interestingly written history of pantomime, with the emphasis on the English developments, breaking away from silent clowning to traditions of her own, involving words and music. Anecdotal -- colorful details -- biographical in respect to the names of those who built the traditions, the Paynes, the Grinaldis, the Bolognas, the Puinos. The market is definitely those interested in books about the theatre, in specific narrowing down to the field of pantomime. Try also schools and college departments of drama.
