KIRKUS REVIEW

Again a varied collection of boys' stories by different authors, useful for light entertainment and for stimulating an interest in reading in the ""high resistance"" group. Adventure in the keynote in the Pioneer stories, and such well known pioneering Americans on Kit Carnon, Daniel Boone, and Abraham Lincoln appear in the group of ten stories. Wide range of period and subject. Animals and enterprising boys share the honers in the Wild Life stories, and the eleven stories include tales about a panther, racoons, a skunk named Joe, a rogue elephant, a trout, duck, loons, and a bear. This series does not cut deep, but it will serve a defined purpose.
