HAWAII, FIFTIETH STAR by A. Grove Day

HAWAII, FIFTIETH STAR

This text represents a rewarding departure from the dullness which marks most of the deluge of material marking Hawaii's acceptance into the United States as a full fledged state. Essentially a history, it concerns itself with Hawaii from the time it first was settled by Asiatic Caucasians up to its initiation as a member state of the U.S. In itself a colorful and romantic history, it receives a lucid and animated treatment in this book which assigns pertinent but academic facts to an appendix thereby leaving the narrative free to flow with the more vivid aspects of Hawaiian history. Entertaining, informative, Hawaii Fiftieth Star, should be looked to by all those well meaning authors who write to educate but not to refresh.
