KIRKUS REVIEW

Winner of the second Mary Roberts Rinehart Mystery Novel Prize Contest, and though composed of some highpowered melodramatic elements (leprosy, blackmail, bribery, conspiracy, abduction, subornation of perjury) is a trickily well worked tale of a used for a murder plot, while a trial for murder is going on. Plot framed within a plot well done, though ending includes some new material for reader.
