A book about the scientific aspects of photography and its processes, from the emulsion, to development and exposure, color sensitivity, fixation, the theory of latent image, lenses, positive processes, etc. Closing chapters on how to take good pictures, on laboratory experiments. The scientific chapters are very complex, including complicated formulas which even the professionals might skip; the more general chapters contain fairly obvious material, for amateurs. The result, a straddling of two possible markets, too involved for one, too simple for the other, with schools and classes in photography as the only sure market for such a handbook.
