SEAWATER: A Delicate Balance

The method and technology used by scientists and researchers to learn more about the sea: its origins, chemical composition, and the effects of man on it. Science enthusiasts will be intrigued by the application of the scientific method to the vast and complex problem of the sea; but the author's quiet presentation, indifferent photos, and the technical nature of the discussion will limit readership. Meyerson notes that man's energy production is having a dramatic impact and urges that efforts be made to minimize the harm done to the ocean system. Without elaboration, he states: ""Many organizations are actively pursuing alternatives to our present techniques of energy use and production, and waste disposal."" This lacks punch. Glossary, index, and a list of books for further reading.
