KIRKUS REVIEW

.... and not such a bad end after all, as a professor makes some probable predictions along more comfortable, comforting lines. Here are the expected developments of atomic fission- its potential benefits rather than dangers; of machines without men; of transport vehicles (rockets to the moon as well); of labour-saved leisure (and shorter working days); of radio and TV; health and ever increasing longevity; food (not famine) as Malthusian menaoes are offset by the possibility of bigger and better production; war and war weapons; social conduct and legislation necessary to meet new problems in a changing world..... Some fascinating forecasting of a not too far off future- for the popular science market.
