However, the reader should have some health of reading in both science and religion and the ability to follow methods. He, too, might find it well to know a bit about England, thinkers and . Mr. almost invariably uses strictly English illustrations and anecdotes quite unfamiliar to the average American. The book seems to be a fair weighing for both the cause of science and that of religion. Probably the burden of the author's thesis is found in his quotation from the late Canon Sthurst, ""Nothing but the belief that the Universe is the intelligent work of a rational, designing Mind; nothing but the belief that God is a God of Truth who has created the human reason . . . . . can justify the assumptions underlying modern science."" The author substantiates this thesis will by showing the present enlightened view of both science and religion toward one another and their growing cooperation in the life of man.
