RUSSIA'S ECONOMIC FRONT FOR WAR AND PEACE

A gigantic work, full of facts and figures, made interesting and alive, -- no one-sided evaluation of the Soviet program, but a fair appraisal of the worthwhile results, as well as the failures and disillusionments of the true socialists. The author understands the people of Russia, their hunger for learning and the better things of life, and their willingness to sacrifice themselves for a workers' democracy still a hope in spite of the ""one man dictatorship and the destruction of the sprouts of a free life"". A valuable book, which should provide the answer for those who have wondered about the Russian enigma, the degree of success of the agricultural economy, internal commerce and foreign trade, standards of living and education, finance and the incredible degree of preparedness which has resulted in repelling the foe. He makes one appreciate what has actually been achieved without making one accept the system which he feels will be changed for the better should democracy conquer.
