A veteran newspaperman, the author made a special tour of inspection of 18 South American, Central American and Caribbean countries, and gives specific information on Mexico, Peru, Haiti, Brazil, Uruguay, shows how successful American cooperation has been in health and sanitation programs, rural education, food supply, transportation facilities, reclamation of the land, control of disease, etc. A favorable, thorough appraisal which pleads for continued, more permanent aid.
