THE GARDENER'S ABC OF PEST AND DISEASE

This is a practical handbook rather than a study of pest and disease and procedure, and for the small area gardener, with limited time, it should prove a godsend (and not as disheartening as some of its competitors). The likely troubles most gardeners encounter are brought together, alphabetically, under plant names. Look up Iris, and you'll find Borer, Leafspot, Sclerotium Rot, Scorch, soft Rot -- with symptoms and advice on what to do, and the advised routine of iris schedule. This is the pattern through some 100 flowers, shrubs and trees. Then there is a brief ABC of medicines, a ten point program of garden health, charts of trade names and new controls, formulae for all purpose home mix sprays, etc. The author writes out of double experience, as a home gardener, and a plantpathologist and entomologist.
