THE SOUTHERN AMERICAS: A New Chronicle

A comprehensive survey whose perimeter is a collective history of the Americas to the south, from legendary, documentary sources, and from active participants, and contemporary commentators, which gives an almost eye-witness account of the continent's development to the present day. A tracing from folk lore to conqueror's reports, to headlines and current happenings, this provides an abridgement of many classic origins, gives an available panorama of much scattered basic material. Rather craterical prefaces link the sections interpretatively, giving the connecting information to join the episodes and events in chronological order. Especially for the compendium this however does offer an omnium gatherum of the South American picture.
