A well fed and lively story about twelve senior Girl Scouts tells of the two years they spend raising funds for a summer in Europe, and ends with the start of their great adventure. With problems ranging from family skepticism to the more concrete ones of just how to make their money, the girls have a rugged time. Their activities include the successful outcomes of an auction and turkey shoot and under the guidance of their personable leader, Mrs. Van Vleit, they manage their enterprises well enough to have reservatioun and passports in order by high school graduation time. Though there is a tragedy when rheumatic fever strikes the girl who has perhaps done the most, there is a solid sense of a mission well accomplished as recuperating Inez bids her friends goodbye. Up to the quality of the author's other young books.
