THE JEALOUS CHILD
by ‧RELEASE DATE: May 12, 1954
A specific title covers a variety of situations, physical and emotional, from which jealousy- which originates in fear and uncertainty- may result. Dr. Podolsky's book is therefore a survey of many of the conditions which tend to aggravate insecurity; physical defects and glandular deficiencies; rheumatic fever, tuberculosis, or diabetes; speech or hearing disorders; obesity or left-handedness. The only child, the step-child, the unwanted child all face a special problem- as does the sibling; divorce, adoption or illegitimacy may be a factor- and there are the many variables in parent-children relationships, with something of the attitudes which will case tension and afford the protection the jealous child is seeking. Dr. Podolsky writes simply, and sensibly, but one questions for whom- certainly not the more informed parent or professional.
