POEMS OF THE NEW WORLD

Old School"" verse about the New World, America, strongly rhymed and rhythmed and obviously dated by its sentimentality. Poems of our heritage of freedom, of our forefathers, of Revolutionary times and Indian days, of ""his mother England"" and ""his sweetheart America"", of California and Maine and Connecticut. Frankly, it is hard to recapture a schoolgirl enthusiasm for Alfred Noyes, but I imagine there are lots of readers who have a nostalgic appreciation of verse of this kind, even today.
