GOLD FOR THE GRAHAMS

There's always room for a good family story of covered wagon days -- and this is a good one. Mr. Graham left his Iowa farm after a series of crop failures for the fabulous Black Hills of Dakota. Gil, accused of setting fire to a barn, ran away to join his father. And the family connected with a wagon train, braving threat of Indian massacre and the dangers of the trail. A story 7th and 8th graders will like as supplementary reading on the classroom library list.
