MARTHA WASHINGTON DOLL BOOK

The first half of this book tells about Martha Washington, wife of the first President of the United States. Decorative drawings in line show details of the furnishings, the household articles, and some of the Ireas accessories worn and used at the time, and the text gives further details of the life and of the costume needs that Martha Washington must have had. Then follow pages of doll cut outs and costumes -- dresses Martha Washington might have worn. The two doll figures are both intended for Martha, one as a basis for the every day costumes, the other for dress up. Here is a play book with a very original idea and a sound educational element. The book is bound in heavy board, with an unprepossessing stylized overall cover showing Mt. Vernon. Spiral binding permits removal of the paper doll sheets without destroying the book.
