UNDERSTANDING PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH

Dr. Cherry briefs expectant mothers on the diagnosis, physical changes, complaints, complications and management of pregnancy, with the usual quick reviews of fetal development and labor and postscripts on contraception and breast feeding. It's all in keeping with accepted practice and the manual is similar in style and scope to Guttmacher's classic Pregnancy and Birth except that Guttmacher's explanations are generally fuller. Cherry however includes extensive directions for breathing, relaxing and other exercises for women who elect to labor by Lamaze.
