A BOY TO REMEMBER

Love is accepting a person for what he is, not what we'd like him to be. Karen Berglund learns this valuable lesson in maturity when she spends a year with her grandparents in a mid-Western Swedish community. Her life, until her 16th year, had been spent in a casual Connecticut community with her artist father. The change to the systematic routine of the prosperous Berglund farm and to the team spirit of Rockridge High School demands some fast adjustments on Karen's part. She learns to love her new life, her role as basketball heroine, and -- most important -- the temperamental young brother of her basketball coach. Miss Walden writes a slick story for girls, with some good lessons in human values convincingly woven into the pattern.
