RABBIT

One of two new entries in the ""See How They Grow"" series (the other is Chick). Vividly clear color photos of a rabbit from birth to six weeks are dramatically silhouetted against a clean white ground. Characteristic behavior is shown at each week--snuffling with nest-mates or going on ever-wider explorations--until the rabbit can burrow and forage on its own; meanwhile, as recapitulated on the last spread, the naked newborn has become a fuzzy white bunny (Mother and some sibs are gray-brown). The simple text describes what is happening; ribbon-like friezes at the top and bottom of each page contain charming, tiny drawings that expand on the rabbit's activities, step by step. Printed on extra-heavy stock, an unusually attractive informational book for the youngest.
