CAMPUS MELODY

Another romance for Anne Emery's following (see Going Steady, Bright Horizons etc.) describes musical Jean Burnaby's freshmen year at Overton College in Ohio, but it has little more than a few orthodox sentiments to express. At the outset Jean is hard put to leave Scotty, a junior at Northern University in her home town. But at Overton, new if unclear horizons present themselves in the form of Phil- a B.M.O.C. and a personality kid whose character turns out to be all show and lacking in the emotional stability to back it up. Melissa, Jean's roommate has her troubles too. Money minded, she spurns the love of true, steady Johnny until it is almost, but not quite, too late. Jean engineers their reunion and is prompted by it to transfer to Northern and to Scotty. Trifling.
