NURSERY TEA AND POISON

Duenna Tessa Crichton--again displaying many niceties of observation and presentation--is summoned by her godmother who for years has housekept the estate of her dead husband's twin brother and also taken care of their now very elderly Nannie. While there are all kinds of unlikely persons around (a former Hollywood producer as crazy about horses as is the godmother's daughter) the crimes which occur now are affiliated with a tragedy which goes back years. Neo-classical complicated, but you read it willingly for the ingratiating tone and the differentiated characters.
