THE BOOK OF GOD

The heroes of the Old Testament retain their stature in April Oursler Armstrong's retelling of the Biblical stories. From Adam and Abraham, through Joseph and his coat of many colors, to Samuel, David, Ruth and Naomi, she tells the stories with simplicity which never talks down to a child's intelligence. She maintains a continuity in the narration which suggests the source from which the stories come. With sixty seven illustrations in black and white and color, this should find a permanent place as reading for pleasure and as a reference book. It will make its place on many gift lists -- both Catholic and Protestant- too.
