PORTALS OF TOMORROW

A second collection job by an old master, this is the first of an annual series promising the best tales of science fiction and fantasy and offers 16 selections by old and new writers. There are appendices of outstanding collections, abbreviations of magazine titles, yearly checklists of new fantastic stories in magazines and books. There are some new notes but the tunes remain the same as Simak, Sheckley, Clarke, Brown, Bradbury, Blish, Leinster and their allies range from apparatus to humor and terror. Many mutations here.
