EMERGENCY MOUSE

In hospital for an operation, Henry worries about his sick pet mouse back home, then watches at night as mice come out from behind the skirting board and set up their own mouse hospital. There follows a roster of patients, an emergency operation as Champion Mouse is rushed in ""with a mouse-trap firmly gripping his tail,"" and panic when morning comes: the night hospital is disbanded and Champion Mouse, in a bright plaid bathrobe, must elude vacuum cleaner, fan, pushbroom, and radio in his dash for safety behind the skirting board. The story is nil and the language uncompromisingly British (what is a skirting board?), but Steadman's mad mouse portraits and action footage almost make it worth the candle.
