SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING

This master of the quip with a successor to his phenomenally successful Try And Stop Me, which didn't stop even at the quarter million mark. Here again- for consecutive reading- is surfeit of bon mots and mots justes, practical jokes and shaggy doggerel, and an amazing accumulation of wise rejoinders, witty retorts. Rambling- in its racontage- through the worlds of politics, theatre, radio, Hollywood, publishing, society, finance, this collection is not only what was said, but who said it (there are many celebrities here -- with time out for special tribute to immortal humorists like Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Will Rogers)... Once again, a gold mine for the after dinner speaker, the raconteur. A wide sale, a long sale, an apparently inexhaustible market.
