THE RARE ADVENTURE

A quest which involves some tricky bowling is undertaken by Scots Allan Larg, with his wife, Mollie, to get information about a long dead ancestor in Tunisia. That Larg is suspected by the French officials of having a hand in a threatened uprising; that the Seknougais, are far too alert on his arrival; that the current descendants of Al Merhametsiz, Larg's 'way back relative, try to kidnap him; that, when the outbreak comes, the island of Seknon is cut off -- wind up with Allan's being the means of breaking the revolt and bringing a new understanding with his young, newly found, relatives. The Buchan delight of a bit of a rammy is lessened by a sometimes tedious pace -- but there's fun none the less.
