The seventh volume (but the fourth to appear. . .) includes the texts of The Visions of Simone Marchard, Schweyk in the Second World War, The Caucasian Chalk Circle -- all written between 1941 and 1947 when Brecht was a U.S. resident -- with notes and variants. The Brecht-Auden adaptation of Webster's The Duchess of Malfi is reconstructed in an appendix.
