SPRING COMES RIDING

Horses, dates and dances and a sister-cowed gal's discovery that she too can be the life of the party make this latest Betty Cavanna a sure winner. The author's straight-from-the-Shoulder approach and her girl-to-girl appreciation of clothes, guys, and slick dates spark this story of Meg Sanderson, of the riding Sandersons, parents and five daughters who owned several horses. Through boarding a beautiful palomino, Meg is able to see a good deal of the owner, Alan Randolph, and the angels sing. However, Meg's beautiful sister, Joanna, has her claws out and Meg is in a very dark corner. It is not until Meg goes to West Point for a dance-date in Joanna's place that shy Meg learns that being natural is her greatest charm, and from then on Meg has two boys to think about. A New Year's Eve ending holding hands with Alan puts the frosting on the cake. Good fun and a common sense attitude toward dating.
