DIABETIC MENUS, MEALS AND RECIPES

These specialty cookbooks are valuable additions, for a specialized market, to the bookshop and library cookbook shelf. (Witness the popularity of Cookbook for Ulcer Patients by W. Aurell (Crowell)). The problems confronting the diabetic are more difficult, but are simplified here for practical purposes, and menus and recipes are broken down into carbohydrate, protein, fat and caloric content. The author, herself a housewife and a diabetic, has planned family meals, satisfying, palatable, varied. The menus are cross referenced to the recipes. A brief section on saccharin; tables of food value and a careful cross indexing make this a usable item, for specialty market.
