THE WIFE OF THE RED-HAIRED MAN

...is the object of a long search for Skors, N.Y.C. Homicide, when her husband, Albert Turner, is found murdered. It is tricky work until he can link her with the red-haired man who was once her husband. Hugh Rohan, escaped from a Canadian jail, locates his Mercedes, inadvertently kills Turner and is joined by Mercedes in evading the police. The long itinerary, planned for the unexpected, goes South, West, to New Orleans and Ireland, and it is the ways in which recognition is avoided and Skors' making little things pay off that keep this urgent.
