DAY OF IMMENSE SUN

A richer and better constructed book than Maria Paluna with much the same appeal and market. (Note -- new publisher). Blair Niles has the faculty for bringing to life an ancient civilization -- this time Peru, just at the time of the Spanish invasion and conquest. Good reading, and a vivid background, with a note of authenticity in the picture of background, customs, people. The story of a girl destined to become a Virgin of the Sun, and of the youth who loved her from childhood, and who played a strange part in her life. Romance and historical background -- rather than conventional historical fiction.
