1937 IN EUROPE: The Entertaining Travel Annual

This yearbook has already been published in Europe and is now appearing for the first time here. A trick travel book, and a good substitute for Baedecker for the modern traveler who is inclined to do what he wants rather than what he should. There is enough of the ""musts"" to supply ammunition, and in addition all sorts of odds and ends of valuable information about night clubs, restaurants, entertainments, sport, calendars of events, advice on rates and tipping and currency and customs regulations. Excellent handbook, and some of it good reading, with each country written up by someone who knows and loves it. Boverley Nichols supplies special hints for Coronation visitors. Not full enough to replace other guides, nor a substitute for inspirational background reading, but I'll wager it will prove a popular first aid. Covers 27 European countries.
