by C. E. M. Joad ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 14, 1933
An excellent introduction to modern philosophical and scientific theory and practice. A weighing of the evidence, so to speak, presenting first one basic theory, then another, showing how each step adds to the sum total of human understanding, and how new developments in science and philosophy (psychology, physics, astronomy, biology, evolution, psychical research) affect life and thought today. Sell to customers who are not steeped in Jeans, Eddington, and Whitehead, but who have inclinations in their direction and find time for thorough grounding conspicuous by its absence. Not a book for spectacular sale, but a book for the long haul.
