BASKETBALL CLOWN

Another basketball plus human relations problem, this has its similarities to the MacKellar reported below but is geared for slightly younger readers. Though the doings are those of full scale high school sports, the hero is Moose, a huge (6'5"") freshman whom the captain, Fred Lyons, persuades to come out for the team so Valley High will be able to win the trophy for the third year in a row and thus keep it. But Moose's playing throws a wrench in the life of another boy, Tek, who is tall too but lacks Moose's durability. There is some extensive straightening out to be done, with the help of Tek's sister and a friendly social science teacher, before the prize is won.
