WORLD SERIES ROOKIE

Just eighteen, Stub Alison, an extremely proud young Georgian, finds himself a member of a Big League team. And he is not distinguished for his modesty when he describes his ability to his team mates. The older players resent his conceit and when Stub's technical flaws begin costing them games, they turn militantly against him. Stub's difficult climb to a secure Big League position, his adjustment to team life, and his development toward reticent adulthood are integrated here in a story filled with suspenseful baseball sequences. A story which will find its prime market with diamond enthusiasts.
