HELLO, STAR

Betsy's little sister first appeared 40 years ago in Betsy's Little Star; now five-year-old Star is visiting Grammy and Grampy's farm for the summer. This coy, cute, ""new"" adventure creaks. Star discovers brown eggs have yellow yokes just like white eggs; falls in love with the ""swannies"" that swim in the pond and wants them for pets; plays dress-up with cousin Jerri's pet lamb, Beauty, calling her ""Bootie."" ""I know,"" said Star. ""You call her 'Bootie' because she is bootiful!"" She laughs when the ""naughty little raccoons"" get into the kitchen and make a mess in the flour. Unfortunately, the cover illustration by Durrell does nothing to breathe life into these cardboard children.
