A TREASURY OF FISHING STORIES

Angling writing has a sure audience- and a relatively high degree of readability. This collections is bread based, and includes a few tall tales and folk tales, imaginary stories, some drama and true adventure, factual data on fishing in general and in particular, some verse, nature lore and religion. And- throughout, that essential ingredient of humor. There are classics of fishing- Isaak Walton, Henry Van Dyke, Audubon, Richard Jeffries; there are moderns like Guy Gilpatrick, Marjorie Rawlings, Robert T. Coffin. There is a large percentage dealing with trout -- thirty five as against nineteen with salmon and four with bass and a miscellany of deep sea fish, etc. A good gift item for the sportsman.
